OUR SERVICES

What We Actually Do

Comprehensive social support for families from Ukraine in Northern Bavaria — free of charge, subject to availability.

Important Notice: The services listed below are provided on a voluntary basis, subject to our capacity and availability at that specific time. In every case, we strive to tell you upfront what is realistic. We believe it is better to provide an honest and quick answer rather than leaving you with an open expectation that will not materialize.

Housing & Financial Support

Finding Housing Solutions

Core Service

Some of the apartments are properties managed directly within our initiative itself. In other cases, we assist in finding a suitable apartment with landlords and property management companies in the area, and we coordinate with them — including explaining the process to the landlord, the Jobcenter's involvement, and exactly what is required of them.

Who is it for?

Families and individuals who are currently in our area of activity or are about to move here.

What to mention in your inquiry:

The number of people and the ages of your children, the city you are currently in, the timeframe in which you need a solution, and your Jobcenter status (if applicable).

Important to Know

There is no commitment or guarantee of finding an apartment. Availability varies greatly between periods and cities, and sometimes there are simply no vacant apartments of the appropriate size in the area. We will tell you this in advance and will not leave you waiting for no reason.

Jobcenter Support

Bureaucracy Aid

General guidance throughout the process, help in understanding letters you have received, assistance in preparing for meetings, coordinating with your caseworker, connecting you to an interpreter when necessary, and support during the apartment approval process.

What this actually includes:

Explaining exactly what is being asked of you, identifying which document is missing, deciphering the exact meaning of a received letter, and explaining why it is crucial to reply on time.

Important to Know

Decisions belong entirely to the Jobcenter. We do not guarantee approvals, benefit amounts, or timelines, and we do not provide legal advice. Our role is to make sure you understand the process and arrive prepared.

Registration & Education

Anmeldung (Address Registration)

Registering your address with the local authority is a fundamental step from which almost everything else derives: health insurance, opening a bank account, benefits, school registration, and sometimes even a proper rental contract.

We explain what is usually required, how to book an appointment with the local authority, and what to do when a document is missing or the nearest appointment is too far away.

Important: Requirements and timelines vary between cities and authorities. Our information is general and based on local experience; it must be verified with the relevant authority.

School Registration

Assistance in finding an appropriate educational framework for your child's age and language level, understanding the required documents, providing translation, and coordinating with the school.

In many cases, a preliminary conversation with the school staff regarding language classes or educational support is also required.

Important: School placement is determined by the authorities and the schools. We can assist in and explain the process, but we cannot influence the final decision.

Kindergarten Registration

The number of kindergarten spots in the area is limited, and in some cities, there is a waiting period of months. We assist in understanding the process, registering, coordinating, and exploring alternatives in neighboring cities.

Important: We cannot guarantee an available spot, and at certain times, the honest answer is that there are currently none available.

Ukrainian–German Translation

Connecting you with interpreters for particularly important meetings — Jobcenter, authorities, school, doctor — and for documents that must be understood with absolute accuracy.

Important: Interpreters volunteer their time, and availability depends on their schedules. The earlier you contact us, the higher the chance we can assist at the required time.

Living, Community & Continuous Support

Basic Furniture & Equipment

In certain cases, we can assist with basic furniture, household items, and initial equipment — beds, a table, chairs, kitchenware. This depends entirely on what has been donated and is available at the time, sometimes facilitated through other families in the community who have moved or upgraded.

Note: This involves functional second-hand equipment, not new items, and availability varies greatly year-round.

Post-Move-In Support

Our assistance does not end when you receive the keys. We continue to accompany you in setting up electricity, gas, and internet contracts, sorting out health insurance, understanding official letters arriving at your new address, navigating neighbor relations, and learning standard house rules in Germany — a topic that sounds minor until it creates a real problem.

Community Connection

We facilitate gatherings, local WhatsApp groups, equipment exchanges, and connections between veteran families and new arrivals. Often, the best answer to a question comes directly from a family who went through the exact same experience six months ago in the very same city.

Extreme Case Assistance

In exceptional situations — such as a severe lack of food, basic clothing, or other urgent needs — assistance is provided according to our capacity and the specific circumstances of the case. These situations are evaluated one by one and handled in a strictly discreet manner.

Summary & Important Guidelines

Regarding all services: The social support is provided entirely free of charge and on a full volunteer basis. There may be external payments required for authorities, service providers, and landlords — these are paid directly to them and are never paid to our initiative at any stage.

Not sure if we are the right address for your issue? Write to us anyway — we will tell you honestly if we can help.

ZUSAMMENLEBEN

Supporting integration, housing, and community connection for newcomers and locals in the area.
